Lady Shots Shooting Lessons

While shooting is no longer the male dominated sport it was previously, many ladies are put off using a shotgun by well meaning friends who let them use unsuitable guns and cartridges. The same is often also true for young shots.

We have a selection of guns in different calibres at the shooting school so we can always find something to suit, we also use high quality cartridges which recoil(kick) much less than some cheaper brands. With the right equipment shooting should not be uncomfortable.

With the right gun and cartridge combination, there is no reason why ladies cannot shoot just as well as the men, in fact progress in lessons is usually rapid as in our experience ladies tend not to expect a natural ability in the same way as men.

Eye dominance and whether to shoot with an eye closed is another area where ladies often receive conflicting advice from friends and relatives. Our one to one lessons and shared lessons follow a similar format for ladies as everyone else, and eye dominance is something we cover right at the start.
